Three figures with shadowed faces walked through Dalaran City. Their hands were upon the hilts of their runeblades and in a cute grotesque way, a ghoul was tagging along beside one of them. As their chilling ice blue eyes glanced all around them as they passed through the busy streets of the floating city, one of the figures stopped and pointed towards a stray rabbit within one of the Dalaran gardens "Bunny!" it shouted as she ran for it.
For the other two, they just shook their heads at their friend whom now was hugging the frightened bunny in her arms "Xenaria. Put the poor critter down, and get over here, we're on an important mission" with a hidden pout, the hyper and bubbly death knight released the bunny, leaving it scrambling towards a flowering bush and walked over to her companions "Sorry Elren. Sorry Talathara" she murmured in a voice almost to quiet for anyone without Elven ears to pick up.
They all laughed and began walking again with the ghoul now trying to catch the torn clothing scraps on its arms "Brainchomp! Hurry along" shouted Elren as she held up a gold piece at the ghoul. It wasn't a brain, the ghoul's favorite snack, but Brainchomp now wanted that gold piece more than anything in his rotting undead life "shiny" it called out in a scratchy voice. With a laugh, Elren and her friends continued to walk as the ghoul tried to grab the gold piece still in Elren's hand.

"Arise, and carry out our master's will!" With a pained groan, a figure slowly sat up "Where am I? Who am I? And why does this place smell so awful?" she asked, "Worthless piece of junk, get rid of it!" commanded a burly looking man behind a lone woman. Another figure ran behind the woman and tapped her on the shoulder "tag, you're it" she shouted, the woman gave a sharp yet annoyed sigh and began casting a spell on the girl but stopped when she saw the girl tackle the newly awakened figure. "Awe please, Can we please keep her? She's pretty" "You think everyone is pretty, Xenaria" murmured a monotone voice "Talathara! You're back!" Xenaria shouted.
The girl looked around then fixed her eyes on the two girls now standing beside a forge of some sort, with a sound of pain she got up and began walking towards them "W-What are you? Why is this place so cold? A-and why do you all have the same outfits and sinister glowing blue eyes?" she asked. Talathara and Xenaria sighed and looked at the poor defenseless girl and each place a hand on her shoulder "Well for one, we're Death Knights, spreaders of death and decay. Two you are at the roof of the world, the glorious Northrend, a place where the sun does not shine. And three, would you rather wear those tattered clothes?" they answered in a well-prepared answer.
"Don't even ask, we deal with thousands of new recruits, they usually ask the same questions" What is your name?" Xenaria asked "I-I don't know. I cannot even remember yesterday all that well, all I remember is closing my eyes to sleep. Then waking up to clattering metal, then feeling a agonizing cold sharp pain in my abdomen" answered the girl "Your name is Elren, my subconscious told me, No I can't read minds but our master told me through my mind" Talathara answered. With a gasp, Elren felt something dark and sinister enter the room "Get her armor and put her to work, I will not have any of you laze about! We have a war to fight here!" Shouted a voice that would make any unprepared soldier soil himself and run away like a whipped child. Everyone in the room stood at attention then shouted" Yes my king!" then Elren relaxed as she felt the sinister king depart.
"Come let's get you fitted for your armor and place you in front of a training dummy" Talathara murmured as she took Elren up by the arm. Xenaria followed behind humming a tune aloud holding Elren's other hand "You are my big sis. From this moment on" Xenaria said with a slight chuckle.

The trio walked through a section where various shops that sold various items for professions or special items needed for missions. Elren paused at a forge and watched two people of different races hammer away at smelted metals. The solid clanking sound brought her back to the day she was brought un-death as monstrosity known to all as a death knight.

Elren stood tall and still for the armor smith to put the freshly made armor upon her person. She didn't know how he-at least she thought it was a he- to be able to pick up the heavy armor since he was nothing but bone, literally. Xenaria, still brimming over with joy for the new comrade, fiddled with the various contraptions within the smith's work zone. With a low scratchy growl, he turned and gave her a glare with the message 'don't touch my things or I'll break you in half' ringing loud and clear "sorry master smith, I'm just bored" muttered Xenaria as she hurried over to Talathara and slumped down onto the ground. Talathara cleared her throat, and then bent down towards Xenaria "If you are bored, why don't you go pick out some weapon scraps for Elren?" Talathara whispered. Xenaria shot up then ran over to a corner where battered hilts and bloodstained fragmented blades lay in a heap of ice and metal.
The armor smith gave a nod at Elren and allowed her to move once more, Elren would have said thank you but he scurried over to a furnace where a pot of some sort of molten metal boiled with vigor. She watched its bright orange contents as the distant heat warmed her cold face, and turned her eyes an orange color from its brightness.

"..Ren? Elren?" called a distant voice. Elren shook her head and looked at Xenaria's surprised, yet worried face "sorry I was having some memory issues, nothing to worry about" she muttered. Talathara sighed then lead her memory stricken friend along through the streets of Dalaran. Elren felt as if she was a newborn again; so many colors and interesting architect design whirled passed her eyes. Various sounds, magical and all went through her pale elven ears. In addition, amorous smells of magic and various foods being baked in the homes and inns caressed her nose. Talathara paused at an inn with a stain glass window of a lion in its pattern, and then turned towards the group. Elren looked blankly ahead "Elren, head over to the horde section's inn and try to fish up some information. Xen and I are going to do the same here," said Talathara as she gave Elren her map of the city, just in case.
Elren nodded and turned down to a small square that cut right across the horde section, known as the Sunreaver Square. The area hosted a reasonable inn with a special trinket and armor shop sat next to it at the height of the inn's second floor. A fountain sat under a part of the building -where battle recruitment took place- and Portals held open to the four horde capitals, plus a portal to the mystical city, Shattrath.
Elren walked towards an Inn where two of her own kind stood at attention and gave her an odd look as she passed them. The innkeeper was a stout female Orc with two rather large wolves sleeping beside her large feet. Elren let out a nervous sigh, then cleared her throat "E-excuse me, ma'am?" she muttered in the best professional voice she could muster.
The Orc turned at her and gave out a half grunt and growl before sniffing sharply at Elren "I'm looking for some information, I wa-" the Orc laughed aloud then turned her back on Elren without another word. With a sigh, Elren moved towards the inner parts of the inn and sat down at an empty table in the center near a food grill. A tall cloaked figure walked up to her holding a dark green bottle in his hands, with a quick glance she saw the lettering on the bottle, it was Thalassian, her people's native tongue. The cloaked figure sat across from her then cleared his throat "If ye be wanting information, go ask dat elf over dere in da corner. He helps ya, mon, but ye got at pay for his services" chuckled the character. Elren just knew by his accent that this was a troll. Different from the ones in Eversong woods, he was far less barbaric. Elren nodded then ascended from her seat then made her way towards this mysterious elf.
The elf looked up her approach and gave a wicked smile "So, little troll sent me another traveler. What can I do for you sister?" he announced. Elren gave him a gold piece before sitting down "I need some certain kind of information. I expect you'll tell me everything I desire to know," she muttered in a threatening way. She flicked her wrist and raised her ghoul, Brainchomp to the surface again. The elf gulped and wrinkled his nose at the ghoul before looking back at Elren again "okay, I'll tell you. But for a few more gold pieces" he chuckled, Elren sighed and through down two more gold pieces onto the table from the pouch hidden deep within her breastplate. The Elf smiled fiendishly then grabbed the gold coins "Now speak, what do you know" asked Elren. The elf nodded "first where should I begin?" muttered the elf. Elren nodded in pride and gave a approving smile, she was good at negotiating. Her scourge life was to negotiate the prisoners until the brink of death. How could a friendly talk be any different?
